VINCE NEIL Talks MÖTLEY CRÜE/POISON Tour, 'Skating With The Stars' Gig (Audio)
November 21, 2010MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil was interviewed this past Friday's (November 19) episode of "Elliot In The Morning", a morning radio talk show hosted by DJ Elliot Segal. You can now listen to the chat in the YouTube clip below.
When asked about POISON singer Bret Michaels' recent onstage claim that POISON and MÖTLEY CRÜE will celebrate their 25th and 30th anniversaries, respectively, next year by joining forces for a North American trek, Neil said, "I don't know why Bret would say that. And I hadn't heard about it. People were asking me, and I'm going, 'I never heard that in my life.' And I was getting a lot of Twitters about it. I finally just called my office and said, 'What is up with this?' I was kind of pissed that nobody told me. And they go, 'Look, we have no idea. There was never anything like that [being considered] or that was even being talked about.' But the funny thing is, ever since [Bret] did that and now people are talking about it, crazier things have happened. It could happen. Because you have promoters out there going, 'Hmmm…. Yeah, maybe. Yeah, that sounds like a great package.' You know what I mean?!"
Neil is one of six celebrities who will appear on the brand new show "Skating With The Stars", which is described as "Dancing With The Stars" on ice (and comes from the same producers). The other contenders are Sean Young ("Blade Runner", "No Way Out"),reality star Bethenny Frankel, Olympic gold medal skier Jonny Moseley, "All My Children" actress Rebecca Budig and Brandon Mychal Smith of the Disney Channel sitcom "Sonny With a Chance".
A new series from BBC Worldwide Productions, "Skating With The Stars" will pair celebrities with a world-class ice skater as they prepare to compete in front of a live audience in a televised ice skating competition. The skating pairs will be critiqued by a panel of expert judges and will receive a set of scores based on artistry and technique, and also by viewers at home, with one couple being eliminated each week.
"Skating With The Stars" will kick off its six-episode run with a live premiere episode on Monday, November 22 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC television network.
"Skating With The Stars" is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. Izzie Pick ("Dancing With The Stars" and the U.K.'s "Strictly Come Dancing") and Phil Edgar Jones ("Big Brother" and "Celebrity Big Brother") serve as executive producers. Paul Osborne ("I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!" and "Secret Millionaire") will serve as co-executive producer. Alex Rudzinski ("Dancing With The Stars") will direct.
